I do wish that the movies would have followed the books more closely but this is a great movie. One of my favorite movies! (18 August 2009)Excellent acting, beautiful scenery on Prince Edward Island, and script is very close to books. I could watch this version over & over again. :) Great Continuation of Anne of Green Gables (16 July 2009)I love this film. It is excellent to satiate your need to know what Anne was up to next after the first movie Anne of Green Gables. Anne leaves home to teach at a private girl's school and we watch her through her challenges with the headmaster, some snobby students and townspeople. Of course she eventually wins everyone over in her usual way. She is romantically pursued by an older gentleman and of course by Gilbert Blythe, her childhood classmate. The film is tender, touching, and heart-warming. Great viewing for the entire family, especially for mom and the girls. The ending of this film makes you go "aaaaaahhhhhh," and you leave satisfied. Anne of Green Gables brought to life (10 July 2009)After seeing Megan Follows as Anne, I have trouble imagining anyone else in the role; she is very much as I had pictured when reading the book. The supporting cast is equally strong in bringing the book's roles to life. While this movie combines multiple books and departs in places from the original story, it is delightful and, I think, true to the spirit of the books. The photography of scenery is wonderful, too -- makes me want to visit Prince Edward Island. The Video is Perfect (06 May 2009)Thank you very much. The box and tapes were in perfect shape.
